Leadership
In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice
Agenda is a national/state partnership designed to amplify and lift the voices of black leaders. Some goals include establishing an influential leadership voice for black women on reproductive health, rights, and justice, and to lay the foundation for ongoing policy change that impacts black women and their families. They work with all the members of the organization to provide training on various issues affecting black women. This way, they can serve as spokespeople within their communities to promote policy and cultural change.
Advocacy
Women Deliver
Woman deliver is a global organization that champions gender equality and the health and rights of girls and women. Additionally, Women Delivers work to make sure that the needs of girls and women in humanitarian settings are recognized. This includes working with local and global organizations to ensure that gender equality and women's sexual and reproductive health and rights are a priority during emergencies and their aftermath. Women Deliver helps elevate the voices of women, and the local organizations they lead, to make sure they have a say in what happens.
Educate
ALA - Garifuna Women
ALA was founded by several women from the Garifuna community to help their community. The Garifuna people are a mix of Carib Indian, Arawak Indian, and West African ancestry who were removed from their home island of St. Vincent and sent to Roatan, Honduras in 1797. Their mission is to help strengthen the Garifuna culture by providing education to empower women and giving them the knowledge elderly Garifuna women have acquired over time.
